ABOUT THE STUDY

The study focused on determining the effectiveness of powdered Peanut Shell, Banana, and Pomelo peelings as a renewable bio-adsorbent. Two (2) set-up were prepared for the experimentation. The first set-up, Treatment 0, which consist of contaminated water, was considered as the controlled group. The second set-up, Treatment 1, consisted two (2) replicates to achieve an accurate result. The solution underwent first through the process of adsorption, then sedimentation, and filtration, and lastly, boiling. The parameters that were determined before and after the experimentation are the contact time of adsorbate, amount of adsorbate collected, pH level of the contaminated water and the solution, turbidity, ammonium content, and electrical conductivity. Assumptions and selections were made as a consideration of a proper and realistic output.
